Selling on Luxépolis is very simple. All one needs to do is follow these 3 steps to create a listing:

a) Click on the Sell button on the Main Menu.
b) Take photos of the product or upload existing pictures
c) Fill in the product details like brand, condition, colour, size, price etc.

Luxépolis has put together some basic Selling Guidelines that will help you unlock the value in your pre-ownedluxury merchandize. The four criteria’s that a prospective seller should check are: Age of product, Brand of the product, Condition of the product and the Pricing of the product. For your convenience we have addressed all four criteria’s as individual questions below. In case you wish to list your luxury garments. Please do refer to the question pertaining to clothes as well along with the four other criteria’s.

Other than antiques, fine arts or collectibles, any luxury merchandize that is listed on the site should be less than 10 years old.

We have an Accepted Brands list. If you own anything that has been manufactured by any of these brands, you can sell them on Luxépolis. Incase there is a brand that isn’t listed in the accepted brand list and you wish to verify if it can be sold on Luxépolis please get in touch with us at sourcing@luxepolis.com.

You can sell any pre-owned luxury item on the site that you would give a friend. For your assistance we have provided some classifications below:

New With Tags: You may have several luxury items in your closet that are completely untouched with the tag intact. These could be gifts from family members or were impulsive purchases that you never took out of your closet. You could pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.

Gently Used: These are designer products you have barely used, maybe just a couple of times. The beauty is intact and can be treasured by a new owner.

Fairly Used: At Luxépolis you can also sell your branded goods that you have used more than a few times and may have a few stains, marks, discoloration or similar small defects but the sheen of the product is left unimpaired.

Refurbished: You may have a designer bag in your closet that you haven't used because of maybe, a tear. Luxépolis shall inspect the bag and if it meets the required criterion, with the help of experts it can be brought back to its original allure. Such refurbished products shall be declared to be so and luxury watches shall come with a 1-year free warranty.

A potential seller should list a product for a reasonable price, taking into account the years of usage, condition of the product and product style. Incase you wish to list a product and are still not sure about the price you should list the product at, in such a case we advice you to list the product at a price you feel absolutely comfortable selling it at and you can always change the price after a few days based on the feedback you receive from potential buyers.

Yes, when you decide to list a garment, make sure it is in a condition that you would give it to a friend, that is it can be immediately worn if required. Please take special care to send products that are clean and well maintained. Incase there are any damages or color leakage please do mention the same.

Here are some tips that will sell the merchandise faster:

(i) Upload bright and attractive photos of the product, click pictures of various features of product (refer to next question for specifications)

(ii) Ensure the product photos are shot in great lighting that brings out the best features. Avoid busy backgrounds, click the picture against a basic color background surface, try to use a white background for all products expect for products that are white in color in such a case use a black background.

(iii) In case there are any dents, defects etc. declare the same clearly in the light of full disclosure

Any individual or a luxury boutique that has authentic and branded merchandise, either new or pre-owned can sell them on the site. In order to build a trusted network of reputed sellers, Luxépolis shall carry out a rigorous background check of the reputation of the sellers. Sellers who indulge in selling fake products will be banned from the network and Luxépolis may pursue legal action against them.

Photos should capture and display all intricacies of the products, namely Interior, Exterior, Logo/ Label, Serial number and Hardware

Apparels: Photos should display the front, back, Logo/label, sample of hem/ stitching, embroidery/ embellishments, buttons, zipper pull, clasps, and marks, tares, cuts if any.

Eyewear: Photos should display inside and outside of the frame, stem, close-up of logo/ brand name and hardware and details of scratches/ marks if any.

Handbags: Photos should include Interior, Exterior, Labels/Logos, Serial number/ Date Code, Hardware, Interior seam, Stitching/Detailing, Attachments (if any), Authentication card and packaging (if available)

Jewellery: Photos should include clear and detailed view of, Exterior, Interior, Engravings, Logo/Trademark, Clasp/ Closure and Packaging (if available)

Shoes: Photos should include Top View (side by side) of the Shoes, Back View (Side by Side), Bottom View of both shoes, Insole, Brand name/ Logo, Top and Bottom of the tongue, View of Heel Side by Side, Any writing otherwise not shown in the photos and Packaging (if available)

Trunk: Photos should include All Sides, Including Bottom, Close-up of Hardware, Interior, Including Lid, Logo/Label, Writing and Numbers, Drawers, Lock and Key, Latches and Background Information if known.

Watches: Face, Back, Both sides of Band, Closure/ buckle, close up of crown, Stem, Any Visible Writing and Packaging (If available)

Once the listing process is completed, the pre owned goods that the individual uploaded are visible on the website to potential buyers for purchase. Potential buyers can even leave comments on concerned seller’s product page; this will help the seller receive feedback and questions, which he or she can immediately answer. The feedback received by the seller can help him understand if he should add more pictures, give more information about the product or change the price for the sale procedure to be smoothened.

Most merchandise, in good condition and priced reasonably, sells out within 30 days of listing on our site.

It is important to ensure that the images of the merchandise are clear and of good quality and the details provided are accurate. This will help the team at Luxépolis authenticate the merchandise quicker and complete the sale faster.

A potential seller can withdraw thelisting at any time by sending an email to sourcing@luxepolis.com. The seller must keep two things in mind, (i) The website allows potential buyers to view the sellers rating which is based on the feedback Luxépolis receives about the seller and the seller’s conduct on the website (ii) Incase the seller changes his mind after a buyer has agreed to purchase a product such act will be looked into and a seller who repeatedly does this will be banned from Luxépolis.

We encourage sellers to keep the price consistent and not change it very often, as it may lead to confusion for potential buyers. However a potential seller can change the price of the listing so long as a buyer hasn’t already agreed to purchase the product on the mentioned price. In such a case the product is considered sold even if the physical delivery hasn’t been passed on to the buyer as yet.

Once the sale is finalized, the seller will be immediately notified. The product will not appear on the seller’s page any more as “available for sale”; a concierge executive from Luxépolis will contact the seller to arrange the pick up of the product. On receiving the product, it will be checked by experts to verify that the product matches the pictures that were uploaded. Once the first level of check is completed, a team of experts authenticates the product. On complete satisfaction the product is sent to the buyer. The payment of the transaction will be sent to the seller within 7 working days since the day of sale.

Luxépolis provides a one-of-a-kind platform for you to sell your pre-owned luxury pieces. With our support you will be able to unlock the value of your luxury possessions. After the sale of the product, you will receive 80% of the selling amount and Luxépolis will receive 20 % as facilitation fee. This is for all products priced individually under Rs. 1 lac. Incase of products above 1 lac the fees would be 11%. For certain categories like Automobiles and Jewellery, there is only a listing fee currently and no commission is charged.

The facilitation fee covers the following essential services:

(i) Developing and maintaining the platform

(ii) Offering Authentication service

(iii) Basic Refurbishing and cleaning

(iv) Logistics - Shipping & Returns

(v) Enhancing product photos

(vi) Marketing of listed merchandise

(vii) Customer Support

Luxépolis believes in the Circle of Luxury. Hence, we will be happy to offer the seller Gift Vouchers from our participating luxury brands. For a more rewarding experience, the value of the Gift Vouchers provided will be 10% more than the value of your merchandise sold.

If however, the seller wishes to receive the payment in the form of cash, we will remit the registered account with the value of the merchandise sold or send a cheque to the seller’s address, we will alsosend an email statement to the seller detailing the transaction. This should be done on or before 7 working days of the completion of the transaction.

Tip: It is in best interest of the seller that he or she provides complete bank account details, including IFSC code and Account Number, when he or she logs in for the first time.

Luxépolis strictly follows the financial regulations of India and can disburse bank payments only in Indian Rupees (INR).

Yes, the seller will receive the full value of the merchandise sold reduced only by the facilitation fee due to Luxépolis and tax deductions at source, if any.

Luxépolis believes in luxury being shared, especially amongst friends and family. We would love to have our member’s friends and family on board with us. What’s more the member shall benefit from the good karma!

We appreciate our members’ partnership and as a token of recognition, we are offering Gift Vouchers, from our partner luxury brands, to all members who list more than 5 items of merchandise at a time. The value of these items will be considered, and the voucher is only redeemable on completion of six months of the products being listed on Luxépolis or on sale of products, which ever is prior. Once a member lists the products Luxépolis’s team reviews the products, then the member is contacted to inform him or her about the products being listed and the member is also informed if he or she is applicable to receive the gift voucher.

Luxépolis’s charter on Authenticity

The true essence of luxury lies in fine craftsmanship and authenticity.

To ensure that all merchandise on Luxépolis come with the assurance of Authenticity, we follow a 3-step process:

1. Carry out a rigorous check of the sellers’ credentials

2. Conduct a physical examination of the merchandise by a team of in house team

3. A team of experts, in order to determine authenticity of the product, conducts physical examination of the merchandise. Luxépolis works closely with brands to ensure that the products are authentic and governs checks in accordance to the guidelines.

4. Luxépolis has oversees associations with bodies that specialize in authentication, and their services will be availed as and when required to get expert guidance on the authenticity of the product

In addition to these, every buyer on Luxépolis is protected by, the industry-first, Luxépolis Protect Service™.

Luxépolis examines all merchandise before dispatching them to the buyer, and puts its best efforts to combat counterfeiting or the sale of banned products (e.g. products infringing applicable laws or regulations or third-party rights; prototypes (clothes or accessories made before being launched for mass production) or uniforms (clothes or accessories intended for the employees of certain brands) or some products from “staff sales” or “press sales” which are not authorized for resale. If, however, a Buyer receives a counterfeit Product or a Product that has been officially banned from resale, a Buyer may avail of the Luxépolis Protect Service™ and receive a refund.

In a rare case that a buyer challenges and disproves the listing details for a particular piece, within 7 days of purchase, the buyer will get a refund of the entire transaction value. This is called the Luxépolis Protect ServiceTM, a facility that is an industry first.

Luxépolis aims to protect the interests of the seller and the buyer. Once any product is sold, The product is first shipped to Luxépolis, where the expert team checks the product, and numerous pictures of the merchandise are taken by the team and kept for record purpose and the authentication process is carried out. Only on complete satisfaction is the product sent to the buyer. Thus the chances of a buyer challenging the merchandise are minimum.However, in such a case, before bestowing a refund to the buyer, we will ensure that our expert team thoroughly examines the merchandise again, to check the condition of the merchandise (to ensure the condition matches to the pictures at time of shipping to the buyer) and check the authenticity of the product. Luxépolis will also seek the opinion from the brand in question, if required. The seller will also be given an opportunity to interact with the buyer to resolve his or her doubts.
