Breitling raised the Chronomat's rider tabs to stop Frecce Tricolori pilots damaging their crystals on canopies. Here they turn in polished red gold on the first Chronomat line designed for women, framing eleven diamonds on mother-of-pearl.

Why we love it
In November 2020, as Robb Report recorded, the Chronomat 36 and 32 became the first Chronomats designed for women, and Charlize Theron wore a diamond-bezel Chronomat 36 at the launch. This reference carries that line in its jewelled form: the Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 ref. U10380101A2U1.
Its four raised rider tabs began as a pilot's solution, guarding a recessed crystal from cockpit canopies. On this reference they stand in polished 18k red gold on a ratcheted, rotating bezel, eleven round diamond indices are set into natural mother-of-pearl, and inside beats a COSC-certified chronometer, so the gem-set dial is matched by certified precision.
